Christmas Stories (Stickman)

The story of Stickman is a nice story to work with your students right before Christmas!

It's a story about a stick which can move and talk! Depending on what you are teaching and the level of your students, with stickman you can teach numbers, family members, body parts, comparative, superlative, seasons, the elements of a story, the verb to be and a lot more...

I simplified the story for my very young learners in bookcreator. You can find it here:Stickman

I also found the utube videos online and merged them to one video as it seems to me that watching this short film will make understanding easier...

You can find it here.Movie

I also created a thinglink which is made for young learners. Right now my students are practising family members so the games are focusing on Stickman's Family.

You will find it here:games

You can actually dramatise Stickman with props costumes and realia and it could be your Christmas Play!

As a surprise you could make Stickman Cookies for your kids or with your kids!
They are delicious! Ι used the easiest recipe with nutella!
You will see it here:Biscuits

Ideas of how you could dramatise it are shown here.

Laminate the settings of the story and make a road (optionally). You could simple throw the settings on the floor! The main character Stickman will be walking or jumping from place to place.
Hopefully in the end Santa will take him back home....
Here are some props
A hat for Stickman would be ideal!

and headbands for the other actors or masks

with paper ribbons or paper headbands!

And a skirt for the sticklady

You could even make a Family Tree!

Story Maps will help them retell the story and understand the story better!

or draw a map!

Can our students identify the characters and the settings?
Here's one activity!

Can they put the story in the right order?

What if they made a missing poster?

What if you focused on the rhyming patterns?

or Feelings?

Do you like teaching through crafts? I do!

Classroom games to remember
