He or She?

Very young learners can learn structures in a fun way!

So we made these hats and we learnt that He is for a boy and She is for a girl! How?

By creating our hats and when I showed a boy we all had to say he......

And we played games!

He She games

The template of the hat is here:https://www.bilgeceingilizce.net/worksheets2.html

But we also talked about British Culture!

We learnt that in England people love wearing hats! But most of all they love Tea!

And so we put on our hats and drank tea!

They loved it!

The color Monster

The color monster is one of my favourite stories!

                                                                                read aloud

You will probably need to adapt it to your students' level.

                                                      adaptation for young learners

After reading and retelling the story....it's time for crafts!

Students write their feeling and its colour!

Now that they recognise their feelings, we explain that they don't need to be mixed up!

They can keep them safe in different jars and separate them!

When you sing or jump you are happy!Keep these emotions in the yellow jar!

When you cry and you are lonely, you are sad!Keep thse in the blue jar.

Fighting and taking things makes you feel angry! You are red now!

I bought some plastic jars from a toy shop and asked them to write down different actions and how they feel! For example: You get a new present! What colour are you?

Little mouse -Colors

My little mouse teaches colors in a fun way! It's an activity for young learners!
The idea is simple! Print a little mouse and some houses in different forms!Hide the mouse behind a house and ask your students to guess! But they must say:
"Little mouse, little mouse are you in the ......house?"

Don't forget to make a copy and download this in ppt form on your laptop my little mouse ppt

ideas showing how to use this activity
                                                               downloadable material

Going beyond the Little Mouse activity...and teach shapes!Or it could be done with school things, numbers etc...

or little cat little cat are you in the yellow hat?

Phonics / Alphabet

We are ready to feed our phonics monster with........Phonics of course! He is so hungry!
Can you feed him with an AAAAAAAAA or a MMMMMMMM?

Another idea is to swat the letters of the alphabet!
You need flyswatters and the template!
You will find it here: teachers pay template
You call it out and students runnnnnnn to swat!

Good friends

What makes a good friend? What are the keys that open the door of friendship? What do good friends say, have and do?

You can share thoughts on the board with a Spidergram. And you can give them a key like this...

Then you can make a door and students will be pretending to open by using the right words.

This year we gave our students different situations....For example:

"Your friend is wearing glasses and everyone laughs at her. "

" You got a bad haircut and they make fun of you"

" Your friend is telling you a secret"

Students had to decide whether they score a Friendship Goal or they cause a Friendship Foul?

Students were given Ball templates with different situations.

And they gave their Goal Answers and their Foul Answers

This is our Bulletin Board! We also made a song with all the things we said during the project..such Helping or Hurting?

The Bad Seed Story(Values)

Make good choices, do the right thing, be responsible, be respectful, use kind words, be polite, say thank you, take turns, hold doors, help others, share... These are some of the values we want to teach our students, don't we?

The bad seed is a story to use! They will remember it throughout the year, you will be reminding them of good actions, it will be your class motto and all of a sudden your students will make an effort to be good seeds! Why? Because they want to be happy and successful! They want to be leaders!

The story is about a seed of a sunflower! The bad seed wasn't always bad. Something happened and he changed. He used to be good. But he was hurt and changed attitude. He started hitting, making fun of others, making noise and all the bad things bad seeds do! But he was sad.... So now, he is trying to to be good. Not always, sometimes! But he is trying. He sometimes waits, he sometimes says please and thank you! And he is happier! Because being good, makes you happy.

This story is fun, it can be dramatised, it can be read and it can be a great start to talk about rules, good choices, good manners.

You can find the flipbook here The story

Also, use prompts, pictures showing good and bad actions and let them decide whether it is good or bad

Play some online games game , game

And you can ask them to write down how they can be good with craft

teacher's pay

This is how we decorated the school's corridors!

We made big sunflowers and the projects.
